The inspiring story of Rikke Ahlgreen

In 2015, after almost 15 years in the fashion industry, I left my dream job to start my own luxury brand. Little did I know that my body was already broken, and my health was in dire need of attention. Despite experiencing chronic hives, constant headaches, poor sleep, bad memory, and raising a young child, I managed to build a CSR department for a major Danish fashion company. I loved my job, but I refused to acknowledge the signs of stress and the toll it was taking on my health until it was too late.

But from that moment on, I made a promise to myself to focus on my well-being and never let myself get sick again. And while I made some mistakes along the way, including starting a business with the wrong partner that ended in bankruptcy, I never gave up on my mission to create a company based on the right values, one that would protect our planet and the people working in the industry.

Hero By Ahlgreen was born out of my desire to make a difference and to show the world that sustainability should not be an afterthought. Our mission is simple: to become the most conscious brand in the world. We want to inspire others to see things differently, to think about the true cost of fast fashion, and to make better choices for our planet.

As someone who has experienced the dark side of the fashion industry, I know firsthand that the status quo needs to change. The collections need to be smaller, people need to work less, and constant sales need to stop. The consequences of these practices are dire for both the people who work in the industry and our planet.

Simplicity is the future, and we will continue to work tirelessly towards our goal of creating a more sustainable world. We want to be a beacon of hope for those who want to make a difference, and to show that it's possible to build a business that does good, and not just for profit.
